Alexandria, MN. (June 3, 2022) The Massman Companies acquired land on Nevada St. in Alexandria, Minnesota.
The photo below from the Douglas County GIS map shows the new Massman property highlighted in teal:
Located off County Road 46 and Nevada Street. The 80-acre property features wetlands, woods, and rolling land that will be the site for a planned expansion. In the coming years, Massman plans to expand their Villard, Minnesota operations to the new site in Alexandria. They will use the new site for machine design, assembly, machine testing, and customer demonstrations. Initially, up to 100 people will be based at the site including sales, customer support, engineering, machine builds, and administrative functions. They will continue their successful operations in Villard where currently 200 people are employed.
“The plans for the site will be designed to optimize sustainability and support Massman’s commitment to employee wellness and Massman’s commitment to sustainability.” Jeffrey Hohn, President and CEO of The Massman Companies said. “The new site will be developed to protect wetlands and wooded areas and include an initiative to add native plants and forestry to provide a habitat for deer, turkey, birds, and animals. Our goal is to build a nice campus that the team is proud to come work at while implementing sustainable features inside and out that align with our company-wide commitment to a successful and sustainable future.”
While site construction plans are in development, Duane Taillefer, Massman’s VP of Infrastructure planted sunflowers on a tillable area of the land. “We were thinking of something cool to do out there while we work on the site plans and came up with this idea. While we are designing the new building and looking forward to a beautiful space to expand to, our team is excited to create many initiatives in the building design that support our goals toward sustainability. We are also taking this time to plan out a strategic land preservation project at the new Nevada Street location.” Duane Taillefer said. “With not just this new site build, we have great things happening at all of our locations. It’s rewarding to be part of a company that is working to implement sustainability initiatives across all our divisions with a mission to a sustainability-focused future.”
